If there’s one thing I’ve learned to appreciate, it’s a well-made, handcrafted margarita. Mixing sweet and sour pre-made mix with tequila does not qualify as well-made and certainly doesn’t sit well on my waistline.
My husband and I have been on the hunt for a low-ingredient, tasty, some-what healthy (as healthy as you can get) margarita. A lot of “skinny margaritas” aren’t actually “skinny.” They still have a ton of sugar, unnatural ingredients, and truthfully taste very sweet or just don’t taste all that well.
After searching online, in restaurants, and mixing up our own concoctions, J.J. and I have finally found our favorite Margarita. Watch here for a quick tutorial.
Side note, the better tequila you use, the better it’ll taste!
How to make it:
Ingredients (yields 2):
- 1/2 cup tequila silver
- 2 tablespoons organic agave nectar
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- fresh lime to garnish
- Fill shaker with ice
- Add Tequila, Agave, and Lime juice. Shake well to combine all ingredients
- Strain into rocks glass (straight up is without ice; on the rocks is with ice)
- Garnish with lime slice if desired
Optional: Before pouring your margarita into your glass, rim the glass with lime juice then dip in salt.
