Mondrian LA | Hotel Overview

Sam here, writing this hotel overview on behalf of Jamie and me. We recently had the opportunity to stay at Mondrian LA in Los Angeles, California.

This hotel is unique in that it seems privately located tucked away off Sunset Blvd but at the same time it’s centrally located within walking distance to shopping, dining, and touring Hollywood. It’s like it’s hiding in broad daylight.

Located minutes from LAX, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and central between many of Cali’s popular beaches, you’re in a prime location to enjoy your vacation on the west coast.

The suite was definitely an attention-getter walking in.

A revolving half-mirror, half-TV welcomes you into the room. To the left, a plush, snow white king size bed (that is as comfortable as it looks!).

And to the right a large sofa that doubles as a second bed.

Exploring more around the room, there is a desk tucked away by the mini bar with a retractable privacy curtain.

On the other side of the room, a decently sized bathroom and shower with transparent glass to the bedroom (don’t worry, there is a curtain to provide somewhat translucent privacy).

With windows covering one full side of the suite, the natural sunlight lit up the room beautifully.

When the sun went down though, it was a totally different [lighting] story. For a romantic setting, the few lamps provided were on point. For a woman trying to get ready for the evening, not so much. I would suggest asking for an extra lamp or bringing your own light-up makeup mirror.

The breakfast was by far the best breakfast I’ve ever been served at a hotel.

It was hot, fast, but most importantly, fresh. The staff was attentive and pleasant. Thick bacon and eggs cooked any way is the key to a man’s heart, and now to mine.

Hotel amenities are modern and sleek.

The hotel restaurant and bar has a patio that was covered to contain heat (we did visit in February, BTW) but allows plenty of natural light in. Truthfully, it looked and felt like there was no cover because of all the sunshine in sunny LA.

A few steps away is the pool surrounded by oversized couches and tall windows making it feel like a destination of its own.

The SkyBar is a second bar at the Mondrian Hotel but has a more sophisticated, beach-style vibe to it. It has a separate entrance that is open to patrons not staying at the hotel. Toasting a glass of champagne here was a perfect way to top off a long day of traveling.

We couldn’t go the entire stay without utilizing the hotel gym. Located on the third floor, the workout room was small but had the equipment needed for the basic workout. Early bird gets the worm on this this one though… if you plan to visit the gym, go early because space is limited.

Upon arrival and return, the valet is always front and center ready to usher you inside to the eccentric, modern designed lobby. The receptionist serviced fast and we were up in the room in no time. The coffee bar was tasty and surrounded by vibrant green succulents.

We had a great stay at Mondrian LA and can’t wait to make the trip back!

Mondrian LA treated us with complimentary vouchers during the visit, but all opinions are our own.
